It may be difficult for some people to appreciate how difficult this spot is to photograph. I have spent hours up to my knees, out in the canoe, down on my belly and looking down from the screes trying to capture the aura of this place which is always awe inspiring but constantly changing. The screes seem to always be in shadow and this makes it difficult to balance the shot and when everything comes together someone will park their camper van in the way!
My point is I like it! On many levels. The cool blues definitely reflect the mood of the lake at this time of year. The foreground puts us in touch with the ruggedness of the surroundings and make a nice start point for the lead-in line along the edge of the lake through to Gt, Gable.
It is difficult to use ND Grads here because the screes are so dark but the only improvement(?) I would want to make would be the areas of blown highlight in the sky between the mountains.
The vivid colour of the grass and dead ferns are spot on and anyone familiar with the Lake District will recognise these as some of the only colour that remains until Spring returns. A great shot imho - Thanks or sharing it <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/>
