Description

Today I have had the shock of my life, leaving me struggling for words, while at the same time full of joy and happiness. To be awarded with a daily deviation is a suprise, one we all probably aspire too, but never believe we will achieve. Well today very kind people have awarded me one, and I can say its really quite a humbling experience. the DA community since joining has been one terrific journey for me in such a short time. I have recieved countless positive comments, encouragement and suggestions, the support of the community has been there from the start. People following me has grown beyond any number I would have considered possible for myself given my amateur to very keen amateur journey. All of which I am indebted to you all, each and everyone of you. Now with this daily deviation being given, it really is the icing on the cake. Unexpected, but totally totally appreciated, and means so much to me. A special thank you to those that suggested me, and of course a thank you to all who have ever visited, faved, commented or watched, each and everyone has been gratefully recieved. Simon

This photograph is just marvelous, just to be clear. I absolutely admire how the grass is detailed and the trees are just a mere shadow. I believe that the title of this deviation really expresses what is going on in the photograph. The trees in the photograph seem to be on a hill of some sort, and that can give the observer many ideas and deep thoughts. The impact of this deviation is just striking because by just looking, it is just an ordinary photograph, but by tasting, touching, feeling, and desiring, you have this. So there we have it. A deviation with many themes and symbols to think about. These are just one of the many aspects of this photograph I want to share my opinion on. Another example of this is your technique. Again, I just adore how you use detail on the grass. To explain my point, this photograph has amazing composition. The lines of this photograph are just so comprehensible to someone unexperienced in the photography world. I mean, just stare at this, and you will see those diagonal lines shown just where the grass shows its detail. The trees seem to be going higher and the grass seems to go lower. The originality of the photograph, well, I have experienced something like this before, but the way you express it, I have never seen it. The diagonal lines I have mentioned have been used by many photographers. You have shown this very well, and that is "good". However, I feel that this deviation could have some original touches. I seen hundreds, even thousands of photographs of nature. But add a person, something obvious so that beginning photographers can kind of tell what the meaning of the picture is more easily.
I admire the vision portrayed in the photograph a whole lot. The streaks of light make it seem that the observer is "observing" something similar to a halo. This "halo" of light just surrounds the dark shadows in this photograph. Your deviation is excellent, no doubt about that. But it isn't perfect. It's the imperfections that make a deviation really stand out. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)"/>
