This is a shot from our brief visit to China, took the tourist trip to the Great Wall, a truly awe inspiring experience for both of us. To stand there and see the Wall stretch into the distance up and down the contours of the land and imagine the effort that went into it, simply unbelieveable. The trip got us there towards lunchtime, not the best time for photography. I dream of being on it at sunrise, the wall kissed by the first rays of dawn.
this is my poorly done! interpretation of dawn light filling the land. Original photograph was tweaked minimally in photoshop cs5 then using the match colour feature and tweaking it from one of my sunrise shots, to give the above results.
thanks for viewing

Janina, You are 100% correct and what an amazing place you have chosen to study in. We had 3 days there and loved it, but so so short of time, we want to visit again. Thank you for your kind words. Simon
I also visited this part of the Great Wall and think it's one of the best. Not to crowded, but easy to access and a wonderful view. Unfortunatly I'm back in Germany again. Need to finish my studies here. So you did a round trip through China? Which places did you visit?
thank you for that, we only had 3 nights in Beijing, so did the forbidden city, and the wall, and around the city walking as well. Want to go back, found the people to be the happiest we have ever met, not what we expected. The contrasts between those that have and those that don`t was so stark it was quite a shock to see. Simon
