The pohutukawa tree (Metrosideros excelsa) with its crimson flower has become an established part of the New Zealand Christmas tradition. This iconic Kiwi Christmas tree, which often features on greeting cards and in poems and songs, has become an important symbol for New Zealanders at home and abroad.
Seasons greetings to you all, early but necessary from a time perspective. After over 5 years living here, Dawn and I leave New Zealand on friday to return to the UK for family reasons. Hence my participation here for a number of weeks will be limited to say the least.
As a result I wanted to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year, and thank you for all the wonderful inspiration, encouragement and support you have shown me this year, for me its been a highlight.
New Zealand, and its people will be missed, its been good, but time moves on, and next time I contribute work, it should be of my beloved Lake District in the North West of England. Until then, take care all and thank you once again for everything. A final thank you to Dawn, my lovely, beautiful supportive wife, with out whom capturing the light for me would be pretty pointless indeed.
So vivid colors and beautifull atmosphere...thanks for sharing them with us dear friend... Hope everything would be all right at UK and I will wait for your return
